John 17:11, 15-19 1 John 3:18-24 1 John 4:7-12 Vows Four sets of vows are included in this booklet. One is in the body of the wedding service and three options are presented following the service. You may choose any of the four as printed. If you would like to write your own or edit the vows in this booklet, you must have your changes available at the last counseling session. The Wedding Rehearsal The wedding rehearsal is important to ensure that all components of the actual ceremony will happen in a decent and organized fashion. Please be on time for the rehearsal! See that all participants are present. These include the couple, the best man, the maid or matron of honor, the bridesmaids, the groomsmen, ushers, parents, readers, acolytes, and the organist. If you are planning on having vocal or instrumental music, special arrangements should be made so that the soloist or other instrumentalists and the organist can practice at an alternate time. The Wedding Service The Christian wedding service is a time for joyous celebration. The conduct of all participants in the service, however, should be in keeping with the solemnity of the service. The Pastor reserves the right to forbid any member of the wedding party from participating in the service or to halt the service when members of the party or any guests in the church are not conducting themselves properly. Decorations All decorations should be tasteful and appropriate to the occasion. No permanent holders (nails, glue, permanent tape, etc.) should be used when affixing decorations to the pews. Nothing may be placed on the baptismal font or the altar. Real flower petals may not be used since they could stain the carpet or runner. The Wedding Coordinator must approve the placement of decorations.

policies can be reviewed. Photographers and cameras must
remain discreetly at the rear of the church. Photographs are
usually taken after the service and receiving line, but
arrangements can be made to take pictures prior to the service.
The Get-a-way
Throwing of rice is inappropriate to our Christian setting. It is
also messy, and it is potentially harmful to birds. You may not
throw rice. Bird seed is also dangerous to elderly members of the
church. The seed makes the ground slippery because it is round.
We encourage the use of bubbles to celebrate the couple’s exit
from the church.
Personal Items
Please assign someone to be responsible for collecting all personal
items used in the dressing areas and any personal decorations
