"My
humble prayer is that we are changing lives for the glory of God, that
we are planting seeds of desire for knowledge and growth with our
children, that these seeds are nurtured and become raging forest fires
within to share a life with others that is Christ-centered and
dedicated."
-Daphne Smith

Peace Lutheran Church has a unique program for all ages of children to participate in. Help your child discover how they can weave their faith into their life.
Sunday School
3DC
means Daring Disciples Discovering Christ! It’s
also a really cool name for Sunday school. After all, who wants to go to
school on a Sunday?
In the Children’s Ministry at Peace Lutheran, our
mission is to grow a generation of disciples for Christ through
education, worship, service and fellowship. Our nursery through 6th
graders have the opportunity each week to establish and expand their
foundations of knowledge built on biblical truth. Our children have a
year-round curriculum available to them that offers a variety of
teaching techniques in order to create true understanding of their
faith.
From 9 am - 9:45 am at PeaceWest and 10 am - 10:45 am at PeaceEast each Sunday, we have a team
of teachers offering the Faith Weaver curriculum. This curriculum is
offered in the nursery all the way through an adult class. This allows
an entire family to study the same scripture on the same week in a way
that is appropriate for each individual member. At the end of a
three-year cycle, we will have studied the entire Bible.
Each week we have information on our website for
families to reference so that they can weave their faith into their
daily lives. Bible points, discussion starters, talk topics and daily
challenges are just a part of what is offered to reinforce the scripture
of the week.
An additional aspect of
3DC
is our Disciple of the Week program. Each week a 1st through
6th grader will have the chance to have his or her name drawn
from our fun fact sheets. Whatever child has a name drawn will have a
picture and fun facts about the child featured on our bulletin board and
will have a lunch of choice brought to school on Wednesday of that week.
It’s a great chance for Daphne, our children's minister, to get to know
the students better and spend a little time in their world, while softly
evangelizing to their fellow students.
The Children’s Ministry Leadership Team supports
our congregational mission statement, in which we strive to reach out
and build a Christian community where people grow into deepening
relationships with Jesus Christ — children can change the future of our
world and hold the hope of tomorrow.
