Do you have any praises to share? We would love to praise with you! If you have any praises to post on this page, please email them to lesley@peace-church.org or call Lesley at the church at 479-636-2140. We would love to hear about how God is working in your life!
We would like to honor the Men
and Women who sacrifice to protect our freedom and way of life.
Heavenly Father,
We pray for their health and for prosperity in the lives of our
Veterans. We pray for You to comfort and give peace to those who have
sacrificed so much to safeguard us from danger and evil. Renew in all of
our hearts the power of Your love, so that neither death nor life may
separate us from You. We ask this in Your name, Jesus Christ.
Amen
We talked to the doctor today. Ed is cancer free! Chemo and radiation
shrunk the tumor 50% and Dr. Hoffstetter took out the rest of it and any
lymph nodes around it. So the surgery was a success! Ed got his
Nasogastric (NG) tube taken out today. That is the one that goes from
his stomach out through his nose. He has 2 chest tubes. Those will come
out tomorrow and he should be discharged on Wednesday. We will have to
stay the night in Houston on Wednesday as he will have to take a Barium
swallow on Wed or Thurs. This will determine if there is any leakage
from where is stomach was pulled up and connected to the remaining
esophagus. If there is no leak he will begin to slowly eat liquids and
them soft foods and so on. So we should be home on Friday. We will leave
on Thursday, but we will probably stop at his Mom's house, stay the
night and continue on Friday. 9 hours home is a long way!!
We couldn't be more over the moon! I can never thank you all enough for
all you have done for us-Ed, me and the kids. The prayers and the
support. You will never know how much just a prayer has meant to us. God
has blessed us with such a fabulous support system and you all are a
part of that. We love you so much!
Thank you!

It was 6:30 AM, and Dean and I
had just finished reading our Bible out on the deck overlooking
beautiful Beaver Lake. It was so peaceful. I had just put Dean's second
cup of coffee on the newspaper in front of him and sat down to enjoy
mine. Before we could take a sip, a small limb came crashing down, hit
the overhang above us and glanced off Dean’s head, spilling the full cup
over the spread-out newspaper. What a shock! We thanked God that neither
one of us was injured, and then discussion followed. Does God really
want us, staid Lutherans, to break out in public praise for all the love
and blessings HE daily showers on us? Our conclusion was that HE
definitely does desire us to vocalize our blessings. A week ago Friday,
I was getting ready to fly to Houston for our youngest daughter Carin's
brain surgery. By Friday evening, the doctors phoned from the hospital —
after all the extensive tests and re-reading the results, the Surgeon
announced, "No surgery at this time!" Carin has had a stroke, which has
affected her eyesight . Fresh out of the hospital, Carin and her family
arrived to spend their annual 4th of July week with us. We praise God
that our prayers were answered. God is good!!!! All the time!!!

Cindy Meyers would like to express gratitude to God from the Food Pantry. Northside Elementary donated over 300 boxes of macaroni and cheese from their Spirit Week Contest, and we received over 800 lbs. of food from the U.S. Post Office Food Drive. What an awesome blessing!
Glena Johnson would like to praise God for her husband Larry's good health.
