Mission Statement:
Using the God of all creativity's gifts, we grow disciples for Christ.
Vision Statement:
We are committed to transforming lives, transforming society, and
renewing the Church through the creative ministries of music, dance,
art, drama, technology, & the written Word.

Banners
Art comes in many forms and in
the Church, huge fabrics hung majestically throughout the worship space
brings beauty and inspiration. The creators (both men and women!) of
these works sometimes use a commercially-generated pattern, but often,
they create their own. Many times the banners are in honor of someone of
some event, making a lasting impression for future generations of
worshippers.
Communion
Communion at PeaceEast is served by the presiding pastor and lay
worship assistants. As you come to the rail at the chancel, you may
kneel, if able. Holding out your cupped hands, you receive a wafer or
piece of bread. For the cup, you may choose red wine from the outer
rings of cups, or white grape juice from the inner rings. Stay as long
as you wish at the rail, and return to your pew in your own time. If you
would like to receive prayer, the pastor is available to join you as
soon as you have completed your time at the rail. Meet the pastor at the
side of the Sanctuary where you can have a private time of prayer. Those
not communing are still invited to come forward for a blessing.
Communion at PeaceWest is served by the presiding pastor and lay worship assistants. As you come toward the assistants, you will receive a wafer or piece of bread. Hold it as you approach the red wind and white grape juice, and dip it in the chalice of your choice. Then eat it as you proceed back to your seat. If you would like to receive prayer, the pastor is available to join you at the side of the Gathering space where you can have some moments of privacy and prayer. Those not communing are still invited to come forward for a blessing.
Drama
A powerful tool in the creative
arts is drama. Comedy and serious presentations can bring home a point
quickly and effectively. Peace uses drama to reinforce the Pastor’s
message. We employ Reader’s Theater, sketches, Lenten drama, monologues,
and dialogues. We are always open to new avenues of theater and stage
production.
Fine Art
Stained glass, wooden baptismal
crosses and embroidered linen baptismal napkins, paintings, live and
silk floral arrangements, murals, signage, stage backdrops, costumes…the
creativity is as varied as our uniqueness. Where is your specialty? What
feeds your soul? With whom can you share? Who would you like to receive
your offering?
Funerals
Memorial Services at
Peace Lutheran Church are conducted with dignity and beauty to the glory
of God. Contact the Church Office immediately when your need arises. We
will work with the funeral home to make this process as painless and
spirit-filled as possible for you and your family. You may want to make
arrangements in advance and leave them in confidence with Pastor. These
might include your favorite bible passages, music, how payment is to be
made, who is executor of your estate, and burial or cremation details.
This can save time and stress later.
Organ
Our PeaceEast
Sanctuary Organ is a Goulding and Wood Tracker with 12 ranks of Great,
13 ranks of Swell, and 3 ranks of Pedal for a total of 28 ranks. We are
proud of this lovely instrument and lovingly care for it. If you are an
accomplished organist and would like to play our organ, arrangements can
be made through Amy Talbert, Minister of Worship Arts and Music.
Weddings
If you would like organ music to add a touch of tradition and elegance
to your wedding ceremony, please contact the Music Director as soon as
possible. We can arrange for our church organist to play for your
service and help select music from a wide variety of resources. The
church organist should be your first option out of courtesy to the
organist’s position in the church. If the church organist is not
available, the Music Director will arrange for another organist. Any
outside organist will need to be approved by the Music Director.
The Pastor, the Music Director, and the organist will be glad to
help you select music that is appropriate to the Christian worship
setting. Instrumental and vocal music is not entertainment or background
music; it is praise music to God. Congregational hymns may be used if
desired. Vocal or instrumental solos should reinforce the spiritual
significance of the wedding service. Our Music Director will make
instrumental and vocal arrangements. The final approval of all music at
the wedding rests with the pastor and the Music Director.
